|Links2Go Key Resource Award|
Congratulations on your page's selection as a Links2Go Key Resource in the Mars topic! Selection as a Key Resource is an objective measure of how valuable your page truly is. This document will explain just what the Links2Go Key Resource award really means, and will
lead you through the process of adding the award to your page, if you choose.
|About the Links2Go Key Resource Award|
The Links2Go Key Resource award is both exclusive and objective. Fewer than one page in one thousand will ever be selected for inclusion. Further, unlike most awards that rely on the subjective opinion of "experts," many of whom have only looked at tens or hundreds of thousands of pages in bestowing their awards, the Links2Go Key Resource award is completely objective and is based on an analysis of millions of web pages. During the course of our analysis, we identify which links are most representative of each of the thousands of topics in Links2Go, based on how actual page authors, like yourself, index and organize links on their pages. In fact, the Key Resource award is so exclusive, even we don't qualify for it (yet ;)!
Links2Go is the result of over 10 person years of research into Machine Learning and Intelligent Agent technology. Once a month, we sample millions of pages from the World Wide Web and analyze those pages to discover relationships between tens of millions of links and thousands of cross-reference topics. Links2Go provides an interface to these relationships, allowing websurfers to browse links by topic, find links and topics related to an interesting link, and to search for links and topics. |How was My Page Selected?|
For each topic, Links2Go selects at most 50 of the most representative links. These are the "Key Resources" for the topic. In addition, each page can qualify for at most one Key Resource award, even though that page might be a Key Resource in multiple topics, and each author (as determined by unique email addresses) can only qualify for one Key Resource award, even though he or she might have many distinct pages that are Key Resources in different topics (we wouldn't want to spam you by sending you multiple award emails).
Your page has been selected as a Key Resource in the Mars topic. If your page does not fit into this topic, please accept our appologies. Even though we make every effort to insure that our Key Resources are correctly placed, the index is based on actual pages, many of which are noisy or incomplete. Feel free to accept your Key Resource award anyway, but link it to the Links2Go Home Page at http://www.links2go.com/ instead of to the Mars topic.
Finally, if you are not the author of the page or the person responsible for maintaining it, please forward the original email to that person. If you won an award, wouldn't you want to know about it?
