During late December 2025 and January 2026, Mars and Earth are on opposite sides of the Sun, blocking radio communications between them. Perseverance will resume sending raw images in late January. Watch video on Mars solar conjunction

NASA's Mars Perseverance rover acquired this image using its SHERLOC WATSON camera, located on the turret at the end of the rover's robotic arm.
This image was acquired on Aug. 20, 2025 (Sol 1600) at the local mean solar time of 12:50:37.
