During late December 2025 and January 2026, Mars and Earth are on opposite sides of the Sun, blocking radio communications between them. Perseverance will resume sending raw images in late January. Watch video on Mars solar conjunction

This photo was selected by public vote and featured as "Image of the Week" for Week 20 (June 27 - July 3, 2021) of the Perseverance rover mission on Mars.

NASA's Mars Perseverance rover acquired this image using its Left Mastcam-Z camera. Mastcam-Z is a pair of cameras located high on the rover's mast.

This image was acquired on June 30, 2021 (Sol 128) at the local mean solar time of 16:27:56.
