Today, scientists and engineers decided not to make additional attempts to use the rover's arm at Kaibab as they had already attained excellent data about it. Instead, they opted to command the rover to depart the present location and head toward another area of interest. The rover arm was successfully stowed and the rover embarked on its next traverse. It turned around and headed for the feature named "Bonneville,"which is about 20 meters (66 feet) away. The traverse was successful and culminated with the rover at the expected destination. The rover is healthy and ready for operations at the new site.
