Steve Squyres, principal investigator for NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover mission (left), and Matt Golombek, the mission’s project scientist (right), discussed the ground-breaking science returned by the mission’s twin rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, on Feb. 13, 2019. On this day, NASA declared the rovers’ mission complete. Squyres and Golombek were standing in front of a rover model and one of Opportunity’s images of Mars at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
