The Radar Imager for Mars' Subsurface Experiment (RIMFAX) electronics box before being integrated into the Perseverance rover at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. RIMFAX is a ground penetrating radar that will image layers of rock or ice to more than 30 feet (10 meters) beneath the surface of Mars. Water ice a potential resource for drinking or making fuel, would be a valuable find for future astronauts exploring Mars.
