This illustration depicts the aluminum plate with initials of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, which designed and built the Mars Perseverance rover. This plate is mounted on the left front of the rover. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory has designed, built and tested all five rovers that have explored Mars.

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California built and manages operations of the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover for NASA.
