The SuperCam calibration target is visible in this image, taken in the clean room at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, at Cape Canaveral, Florida on April 22, 2020. This target includes visual elements for adjusting the focus of the remote micro-imager, and various samples for the calibration of the instrument’s four spectrometers. SuperCam uses these spectrometers to identify the chemical and mineral composition of rocks and soil on Mars.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California built and manages operations of the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover for NASA.
