This is an artist's concept showing a meteor shower in the skies above the Curiosity rover. Scientists initially thought the rovers Curiosity and Opportunity may capture a meteor shower during the Comet Siding Spring (C/2013 A1) close encounter with Mars on Oct 19, 2014. Since then, the comet began producing dust and gases early on and it is less likely under current predictions that Mars rovers will see a meteor shower.
