There is no spoon. This weird Mars feature is likely a ventifact-a rock shaped by wind.

September 02, 2015

A spoonful of hot soup might be in order for future astronauts who explore Mars. The average temperature on Mars hovers around -81 F (-63C)! This spoon-shaped rock remains after millions of years of wind erosion.

The wheels have a black coating which makes them slip resistant.
