Rachel Evans
Rachel Evans was born and raised in San Diego. She attended Lincoln High School where she explored, among others, her interests in science and community service. She has worked for numerous science-based organizations, including the Scripps' Research Institute; the University of California, San Diego, Biology Department; and the U.S. Navy's Marine Mammal Project. Rachel attended the University of Southern California where she studied biology and journalism. She has since published several articles on health and social awareness in periodicals throughout San Diego.

Rachel has served as Resident Coordinator for two sites operated by San Diego Community Housing Coalition. For nearly two years, she worked at Hacienda Town Homes' Learning Center, within an affordable housing community in the East Village of Downtown San Diego. There she provided successful programs geared toward academic achievement, computer literacy, science skills and social development.

Rachel is currently the Resident Coordinator of Park Villas' Learning Center where, for nearly two years, she has continued to implement and expand upon exciting educational enriching programs for hundreds of youth and adults.

Rachel enjoys writing and recording songs, visiting water parks, cooking, and she is learning Spanish. In addition, she makes it a point to visit the Discovery Channel Store, where she is picks up exciting learning materials for residents of Park Villas.
